A place that celebrates geek culture, See-Scape is a Sci-fi bar in the Junction neighbourhood that is also a gaming café, with retro gaming consoles, a full bar, a rooftop patio and plenty of board games. This is a heaven for nerds ad can be found on 347 Keele Street, in Toronto, Ontario.
There is a side street with plenty of parking for cars and bikes. One can go with their kids for some games, but it should be earlier in the day, and larger groups of friends can certainly fit here and stay as late as possible. There is free Wi-Fi, TVs, and a full bar. There is a rooftop patio usable when the weather permits it, but it is not very popular. The noise level on average, but can get very loud on their busiest nights.
See-Scape is opened every day except for Monday from 6 PM to 2 AM. From the online reviews I read on Yelp, Facebook, and Google Reviews, I bring you a list of the pros and cons of this place.
- Great Sci-fi theme
- Board and video games
- Simple menu
- Good drinks, Canadian craft beers
- Theme booths
- Notes on prices
- Notes on poor customer service
The See-Scape Café & bar was established in 2015. Its location seems unassuming from the outside, but it is a whole new world on the inside. There are two floors, the main floor is used as more of gaming space and the upper floor is more of an events place. The interior is every geek’s dream, with four differently themed booths, raw concrete floors, and black ceilings. The walls are painted black and have t-shirts, photos, game posters, movie posters, movie memorabilia and more. There are vintage arcade games and consoles, as well as a lot of danger signs reminding of dystopian Sci-fi movies.
The menu served here simple, there are starters like a shared plate with assorted meats, cheese, and olives, pita plate, vegetable plate. Next, there are sandwiches like Montreal smoked meat, BLT, and vegan options. Salads, nachos and chilli, soup combo, and omelettes are also on the menu. There is also pizza offer with hot salami and spinach and mushroom options. The desserts and snacks are apple-berry crumble, ice cream float, vanilla ice cream, bags of chips, gummy bears, sour candy and pretzels. On occasion, there are homemade baked goods which are listed on a board in front of the place.
See-Scape is full of details and every corner hides something interesting. There are skull-shaped goblets and candlesticks; spider nets; colourful fairy lights; creepy branches and more. Some special events held here include art shows, punk, and metal shows, burlesque shows, cosplay meetups, Magic shows, and karaoke every Thursday. For more info, you should follow them on social media where they post regular updates for upcoming events.
