The Citro Italian restaurant can be found on 10123 Yonge Street in Richmond Hill, Ontario. A small corner place, it serves excellent Italian dishes made almost from scratch in a quiet, relaxed atmosphere.
Near the Citro location, there is free off-street parking, but there is no WIFI, no TVs, no outdoor seating and there is an air of casual comfortableness, accompanied by great service staff, with low to average noise levels, all important factors to offer a pleasant dining experience.
The menu is designed in such a way as to emphasize each seasonal ingredient to its fullest potential. The owner and head chef Jonny is an avid supporter of local organic farming, which translates into excellent local raw ingredients paired with high-quality imported goods all combined together for an excellent Italian meal.
Citro serves dinner only with the following work hours: Sunday and Monday from 5 PM to 9 PM, Wednesday and Thursday from 5 PM to 9.30 PM, Friday and Saturday from 5 PM to 10 PM, and is closed on Tuesday. It also serves alcohol from its full bar and offers a long, carefully selected wine list.
This Italian restaurant has been reviewed by many customers that have dined here, and after reviewing their comments on Yelp, Trip Advisor and Google Reviews, I bring you Citro’s list of pros and cons.
- Tasty Italian dishes and desserts

- Nice wine selection
- Fresh local ingredients and home-made pasta
- Professional staff and friendly owner
- Some complaints about prices
Citro has been in business since 2012, and it is the result of professional chef Jonny’s education and love of Italian cuisine. After studying and working with some of the greatest names in the business, Jonny decided to create Citro. It is a very small place, with simple Tuscan-inspired décor, wood and brick decorations, simple tables and chairs, open concept kitchen and plenty of local art on the walls.
The restaurant serves traditional Italian meals prepared with fresh local ingredients, as well as a fine selection of imported products that emphasize the authenticity of the meals. The pasta served here is homemade, as are the tomato sauce, the salad dressings, and wine sauces. Each dish is served in a white porcelain plate with little embellishments that awaken the taste buds.
The menu is not very varied, but each dish is freshly prepared with love and devotion. There is a selection of appetizers, the soup of the day, salads, pasta, entrees, pizzas, and Italian desserts. The restaurant serves a selection of beers; alcohol from its full bar and wines carefully selected to complement the dishes.
The staff knows their business, and they are always ready with suggestions and accommodating to their patrons. Chef Jonny is always smiling and greeting the customers, preparing the tasty meals and excellent desserts and thinking about some new daily dish to surprise the faithful customers.
