About Cachet Supper Club:

Cachet Supper Club (formally Cachet Restaurant + Bar) is a restaurant located near the river, on 500 Water Street in Newmarket, Ontario. This is a pleasant place that serves both as a wine bar, with a lot of Canadian-inspired dishes, and some not so Canadian, but quite popular all the same.

Owned by Jenn McLachlan, a Newmarket local, the Cachet is a place that works to create a pleasant atmosphere for the local community, and offer a warm welcome to the visitors that pass through Newmarket. The restaurant has its parking lot for both cars and bikes and serves brunch, lunch, dinner and after-hours drinks.

Cachet is not exactly suitable for children. The menu offers several vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options, it has a full bar, accepts reservations and offers a casual atmosphere, with average noise levels and happy hour. The dishes are prepared with local and imported produce, and each dish has a personal flair added by the inventive kitchen staff. The Cachet opens every day at 11 AM and from Sunday till Thursday works until 11 PM, and on Friday and Saturday up until 2 AM.

The Cachet has been the topic for many reviews online, on places like Trip Advisor, Yelp, Google Reviews, and Facebook. I have used these to create a list of pros and cons that have been mentioned by Cachet patrons.

Pros:

  • Great ambience
  • Interesting dish options
  • Full bar and good wine list
  • Live music and happy hour
  • Outside seating with a great view

Cons:

  • Complaints about slow service
  • Some people complain about too high prices

The Cachet Supper Club started its story in February 2012, and since then it has served a lot of meals, uncounted glasses of beer, wine and cocktails and has been a part from many people’s celebrations.

The interior is modern, with nice wooden and wrought iron accents, comfortable chairs, and wooden tables. The exterior patio area is nice and wide, with chairs, tables, and large umbrellas during the summer, and igloo tents during the winter so that visitors can enjoy the natural scenery throughout the year.

The dishes on the menu are a reflection of the Canadian cuisine, with a lot of international influences, like pasta and pizza from Italy, nachos, Cajun dishes, Mediterranean and Middle Eastern inspired dishes, a variety of sauces and dips, and delightful tasty desserts.

You can make a reservation to get a table at the Cachet via the Open Table online app, or through their website. You can go to lunch or dinner there, or a late-night drink from their full bar with a large selection of beers, ciders, coolers, cocktails, and carefully selected wine list. Every day there is a $5 martini daily special and a happy hour from 4 to 6 PM.
