Royal Thai Cuisine has been around for a while. In 2007 it suffered in an explosion, and after rebuilding the whole place, it was reopened in 2008 with improved kitchen and a bigger staff. The décor reminds of a rainforest, with lots and lots of plants on every available surface in the restaurant. There are a lot of bamboo decorations, and Thai inspired decorative fans on the walls, amplifying the rainforest feel of the place.
The menu consists of hot, sweet, sour, salty and bitter flavours, and all blended to create a beautiful representation of the Thai cuisine. The chefs use a lot of fresh spices, and herbs like lemongrass, lime leaves, coriander, galangal root, and fresh basil, among the rest, which add a unique twist to the foods served here.
The starter dishes include appetisers like Thai spring rolls, Khai Satay, Shrimp chips, calamari, soups like Tom Yam Koong and wonton soup, and salads like Som Tam, Yam Mamuang, and Yam Talay. The main dishes offer chicken dishes like Jhai Pad Kapow and Chicken Mango, to name a few; beef dishes like beef lemongrass, Nuea Pad Kapow, beef skewers, sweet and sour ribs and more.
There are curry dishes, rice dishes, seafood dishes and the inevitable noodle dishes like Pad Thai Khai, Pad Thai Koong, Street noodles and more. To accommodate every customer, the Royal Thai Cuisine has a large selection of vegetarian dishes like fried tofu, hot and sour veggies soup, and dishes like Pad Thai with tofu.
For anyone with a sweet tooth, there are desserts like mango and sweet rice, gulay kaeg and more. This place does serve a good selection of beers, among which people can even find Thai beers. There are daily lunch specials served from 11 AM to 2.30 PM, and combination dinners for two, three or four people.
