A blend of flavours from the Far East, the Qing’s Cuisine restaurant offers a menu with Chinese, Thai and Vietnamese specialities. Qing's is a very popular place and is in Unit 9 of the Fernbrook Mapleview Plaza at 610 Huronia Road, Barrie, Ontario.

There is a parking lot in front of the restaurant. This place takes reservations, does deliveries, packs takeout meals, and serves alcohol. It is also wheelchair accessible, able to accommodate large groups of people or families with kids, and has free Wi-Fi. The menu is prepared in the traditional way, but using fresh local produce.

Working hours are from 11 AM to 9 PM from Monday to Thursday, from 11 AM to 9.30 PM on Friday and Saturday and 3 PM to 9 PM on Sunday. From the reviews patrons wrote on Yelp, Trip Advisor, Google Reviews and Facebook, I was able to create the following list of pros and cons.

After many years of working in restaurants around the GTA and California, USA, husband and wife duo Qing Ni and Lien Tran decided to open their own restaurant in 2014. They decided on putting down roots in Barrie, thus Qing’s Cuisine. The interior of the place is simple but pleasant. The walls are a dark cream colour, with dark wood floors, wooden chairs and tables and long seating benches on the sides.

The bar area is tiled with small tiles in grey, black and white, and there are framed photos on the walls, with one corner housing a small aquarium. The food is served on beautiful porcelain platters, but not much attention is paid to the food presentation.

The menu is divided into a Thai and Chinese lunch offer, a separate Chinese and Thai offers and specials menu. The lunch is served from Monday to Friday from 11.30 AM to 3 PM, has a very good price and each dish comes with a soup or veggie spring roll, salad and steamed rice.

The Chinese section contains appetisers like prawns, spring rolls, wontons, honey garlic chicken wings, and more. Soups are a must-have on every Chinese menu. But don't forget the many chicken dishes like orange chicken, Kung Pao chicken, spicy Szechuan chicken, almond chicken and more. The menu offers beef and pork prepared per traditional Chinese recipes, and a variety of seafood dishes, as well as rice, and noodle dishes.

The Thai portion of the menu has chicken roti, shrimp cakes, Thai satay and more, soups and salads, fried rice and Pad Thai in several varieties, curries like chicken, beef, pork, tofu, fish, shrimp, and veggie curry. Vermicelli noodles, and chef’s Thai specials round this section.

The special offer includes combination dinners for two, three, four and six people, with a blend of complementary foods, flavours, and spices. There is a selection of non-alcoholic drinks, plenty of teas and of course, wine and beer options. Among the most famous and most prepared meals are their shredded crispy beef, Pad Thai and their Mongolian chicken.
