The Dunlop Billiards is the largest pool hall in Barrie, with 24 pool tables, a snooker table, pinball machines, foosball table, a jukebox, and six TV screens. The interior is what one would expect from such an establishment: simple and more oriented towards customer experience than interior décor. It has been recently expanded to accommodate more people comfortably, and there is enough room for a small stage on the side.
The ceiling is exposed ductwork, with light fixtures hanging above each pool/snooker table. There are simple chairs and wooden tables where people can sit and have a meal or a drink. The wooden bar is long, with barstools in front. To the side is the kitchen where the food is prepared. Old tapestries are hanging above the bar, which adds a cosy feel to the place.
The menu is filled with classic pub fare. People can get a burger, a sandwich, a wrap or a quesadilla, or appetisers like onion rings, several options for poutine, fries, garlic bread, cheese balls, mushrooms, mozzarella sticks, potato skins, or broccoli cheddar or jalapeno poppers. There are nacho dishes, salads, wings with different sauces, and party platter dishes. If you select to have an event there, you can choose one of their party buffet packages.
This place hosts live music events almost every weekend, and for more info, you can turn to their social media pages. It also holds CPA Ontario events. Friday nights are popular, as this is the ½ price wings night, and on Saturdays, there is live music, and as the owners say, No Cover.
