The Cottage Canoe was established in 1993, under the name Country Kettle, and in 2012 it was rebranded as the Cottage Canoe. The restaurant décor tries to emulate a country cottage vibe. There are a lot of wooden walls, which along with the antler chandeliers make you feel like you are in a real cottage.
There are also small details like a canoe-shaped wine rack, a lot of canoe-themed paintings on the walls and a gas-powered fireplace that adds warmth to the place. There are wooden tables and chairs, with a long seating bench that runs on one side of the restaurant, providing a lot of seating space for accommodating large groups.
The menu is divided into a breakfast, lunch and dinner menu. The breakfast menu is served from 7 AM up to 4 PM every day, and it has all the standard breakfast foods you may imagine: eggs, pancakes, breakfast sandwiches, bacon, sausage, different toppings, and sweet treats. There is an offer for their Cottage Jam which you can have for breakfast or buy a jar to take home.
The lunch menu has an offer for gourmet burgers, different salads and sandwiches, and wraps. The dinner menu is served after 4 PM and has starters like bruschetta, salmon cakes, and main dishes like a quesadilla, steak dinner, curry, Mac & Cheese, Liver & Onions and more. There is a separate offer for fish and chips and a poutine bar with fresh-cut fries with various toppings per your selection.
The Cottage Canoe serves alcohol from its full bar and has a good selection of red and white wines from all over the world, a good selection of bottled and beers on tap. It is a very good place to go and have a meal, as it holds a Trip Advisor certificate of excellence since 2015.
