A place to get burgers, fish & chips and poutine, the Chois Fish N’ Chips is located on 201 Cundles Road East in Barrie, Ontario. This is a classic eatery where people go for the meal, and not so much for the interior.
This place serves lunch, dinner, coffee, and drinks, is good for groups, you can take your kids for a meal here. They have a parking lot for both cars and bikes, there is waiter service, and you can order a takeout meal or have it delivered to your door.
The menu is prepared from fresh ingredients, the fries and poutine are hand-cut from locally grown potatoes, and the fish is always freshly filleted. To serve a more varied crowd, there is a nice choice of burgers and sandwiches, as well as about 20 flavors of Kawartha Dairy ice cream.
The place is opened for lunch and dinner, starting from 11 AM each morning with closing time at 8.30 each night. The only exception is Sunday when the place opens at noon and closes at 8 PM.

This place is a family-run operation; the husband is the cook, while the wife runs the restaurant and serves the meals. The interior is simple, with nothing particularly fancy, just simple nautical theme with maritime decorations like metal and wood catches, rescue tires and sea-inspired wallpaper There are metal chairs and tables with glass tops, several potted plants, a semi-open kitchen, and a service bar. There is a separate refrigerated bar for the ice cream.
The food served here is nicely prepared, with emphasis on the fish and chips. The fish is coated in their homemade batter, which many customers praised in their reviews, and there is the choice of halibut, haddock, cod, basa, and a lot more. The dishes are served with freshly made coleslaw and various dipping sauces.
For people that don’t like fish & chips, there are burgers, sandwiches, wraps, salads, and the Canadian favorite – poutine which come in several options. There is a good selection of appetizers, snack-sized portions, kids menu, and value portions. To sweeten things up, this diner serves over twenty flavors of ice cream, funnel cakes, deep fried mars bars and more. They only serve soft drinks and water here, as well as homemade milkshakes, but don’t expect to get a cold beer with your fish & chips. You can reserve a table here or order a takeout menu via Skip the Dishes app.
