About Asia Wok:
A Chinese restaurant located in Unit 16 on 20 Bell Farm Road, in Barrie, Ontario, the Asia Wok has been a part of the Barrie restaurant offer since 2005. This place delivers food, while at the same time, offering dine-in options in a simple eatery style restaurant.
The place is in a strip plaza, with a large private parking lot in front of the restaurant. The restaurant is wheelchair accessible; it does not have a TV or free Wi-Fi, and it does not serve alcohol. There is a nice, large menu of traditional Chinese dishes prepared with local Ontario ingredients.
This restaurant serves lunch and dinner and is opened from noon to 10 PM on weekdays, and from 4 PM to 10 PM on the weekends. From the reviews I read online, I was able to create the following list of pros and cons of Asia Wok.
- Affordable prices
- Large servings
- Good menu
- Plenty of vegetarian options
- Fast takeout and delivery
- Notes about poor customer service
- Poor interior décor
Asia Wok has been in business since 2005. This restaurant/eatery has not paid a lot of attention to the interior décor of the restaurant, keeping everything sparse and minimal. There are very simple metal/wood chair/bench/ seats bolted to the floors, with the Formica-top table in the middle. The place has a cafeteria vibe to it, with the tile floors, pinewood wainscoting, and simple cream-coloured walls, along with some Chinese banners on the walls, as well as lanterns hanging on the ceilings.
Asia Wok makes deliveries and packs a takeout meal, but also has items a-la-carte and walk-in specials. There are appetisers like egg rolls and spring rolls in a vegetarian version, honey garlic ribs or wings, BBQ pork slices or spare ribs, onion rings and home-made fries. Asia Wok offers wonton soup with BBQ pork, egg drop soup, hot and sour soup, chicken noodle and chicken rice soup.
There are speciality chicken dishes like Moo Goo Gai Pan, almond chicken, Chinese greens and chicken, Szechuan chicken, Hunan Chicken, Curry Chicken, Kung Po chicken, and lemon chicken. There is a good selection of beef dishes, as well as pork dishes. The seafood option includes breaded shrimp, shrimp with broccoli, black pepper shrimp, curry shrimp, and more.
The noodle is a staple in Chinese cuisine, and Asia Wok prepares a lot of noodle recipes like Lo Mein with different toppings, egg foo yong in several options and plenty of speciality vegetarian delights. There is always a combination dinner offer in these types of eateries, and there are plenty of those in the Asia Wok menu.
