Scaddabush Italian Kitchen and Bar Vaughan

20 Colossus Dr, Woodbridge
About Scaddabush Italian Kitchen and Bar:

As the name suggests, Scaddabush is serving Italian cuisine in a pleasant atmosphere. It is a part of a franchise with nine restaurants across the GTA, and this review is aimed at the Vaughan location, found on 20 Colossus Drive, in Woodbridge, Vaughan, Ontario.

The place has a large parking lot in front of it for both cars and bikes. The place has amenities like free Wi-Fi, TVs, is wheelchair accessible, and is accepting Apple Pay. This place is large enough to accommodate large groups, is welcoming to kids and has a patio when the weather allows it. It is serving alcohol from its full bar, and there is happy hour. It takes reservations per the Open table app.

The menu is interesting, with “a little bit of everything” as the name Scaddabush suggests. A lot of the items on the menu are freshly made in-house, including their fresh Mozzarella. It serves lunch, dinner and late-night drinks, and is opened every day at 11.30 AM. The closing time is 11 PM, with Thursdays up to midnight, and Friday and Saturday up to 1 AM.

From the many reviews I read on Yelp, Trip Advisor, Open Table, and Google Reviews, I bring you the following list of pros and cons.

  • Interesting menu
  • Good sized portions
  • Pleasant interior
  • Good wine list
  • Freshly made Mozzarella

  • Notes about occasionally slow service

Scaddabush Italian Kitchen & Bar has been around for a while, and the Vaughan location opened in 2017. The interior of this restaurant is very nicely decorated, with exposed brick walls, lots of wooden details and several different, yet unique light fixtures that add warmth to the place.

There are high ceilings with beams and exposed ductwork, a large wooden bar with plenty of seating and TVs overhead, and wooden tables, chairs and seating booths. Wooden Italian-like credenzas are displaying canned foods, vintage framed photos and mirrors in vintage frames on the walls and long kitchen-like seating tables.

The menu is separated into a lunch, dinner, kids, beverages, and dessert parts. The lunch menu has items like fresh Mozzarella, appetisers like calamari, polenta tots, fried zucchini, street food board, and meatballs. There are soups, and salad offer, fresh sandwiches, main dishes and fresh pasta dishes made from fresh in-house made pasta. No Italian restaurant would be complete without a good selection of pizzas, and Scaddabush offers eight selections.

The dinner menu has fresh mozzarella dishes, appetisers, soups, and salads, daily-made fresh pasta, pizzas, and main dishes like sirloin and polenta fries, chicken parmesan, Italian burger, chicken avocado BLT, crusted pacific snapper, tomato caper salmon and chicken and shrimp dish. People can also get a selection of sides like rosemary garlic fries, three-cheese gnocchi, Caprese or Tuscan salad.

To accompany a meal, there are house wines, bottled red, white or rose wines, sparkling wines, cocktails, friendly pitchers, sangrias, draft and bottled Birra (beer) and some non-alcoholic drinks and kids’ drinks. Per the Italian tradition, the restaurant offers dessert, grappa, coffees, and after-dinner specialities.
