JR Sports Bar and Grill

3603 Langstaff Rd #08, Woodbridge
About JR Sports Bar and Grill:

A sports bar in the classic sense of the word, JR Sports Bar & Grill is a place where the people of Vaughan can enjoy pub fare, watch a game, have a drink and even play a game of pool or foosball. It is located on 3603 Langstaff Road, in Unit 08 in Vaughan, Ontario.

The place is tucked in the centre of a strip mall with ample parking all around. It is wheelchair accessible and has plenty of TVs all around the place so that no one will miss the game. There are plenty of drink options from the full bar, and this is a great place to go out for a night of fun with your date or your friends, but not really recommended for kids. It takes reservations and accepts takeout orders via Skip the Dishes app.

This sports bar and grill serves lunch and dinner and is opened from noon to midnight from Monday to Thursday, from noon to 2 AM on Friday, from 2 PM to 2 AM on Saturday and from 4 PM to midnight on Sunday.

It has been reviewed online on Yelp, Google Reviews, and Facebook, and from these, I created the following list of pros and cons.

  • Good pub fare
  • Bar games like pool and foosball
  • Good drink options
  • Clean interior
  • Hookah bar

  • Predominantly male patrons (sports bar)

The JR Sports Bar & Grill opened in 2018, and it is a combination of a classic sports bar with plenty of TVs, bar games like pool and foosball and a hookah place. The interior has a soft blue and red lighting that reminds of a nightclub. There is a large rectangular granite bar in the centre with seating on all sides. There are seating booths on two opposite sides of the restaurant, with tables and chairs on the third side, and the pool tables on the fourth side.

The ceilings have exposed beams, and ductwork painted black, with hanging light fixtures over the pool tables. The many TVs are hung above the bar and on the walls so everyone can see them. Besides watching a game, patrons can enjoy a hookah

The menu has all the classic pub fare items one can expect from a sports bar. There are appetisers like nachos, calamari, coconut shrimp, poutine, Greek and French fries, red and sweet potato fries, onion rings, mozzarella sticks, chicken fingers, spring rolls, and hummus and chips; there are salads, JR wings, pizzas, hamburger, double burger, and chicken burgers.

The main dishes include steak sandwiches, grilled chicken breast sandwich, grilled Caesar wrap, chicken shawarma wrap, falafel wrap, beef or chicken kabob, and no pub fate would be complete without fish and chips. The bar has a great selection of beers, spirits, and cocktails for some quite affordable prices.
