About Fred's Bar & Grill:
A sports bar with a nice dining area, Fred’s Bar & Grill is located on 636 Bloor Street, in Mississauga, Ontario. This place is serving lunch and dinner in a friendly, casual setting where people get to enjoy a menu of nice pub fare while they also watch a game on TV.
There is a large parking lot nearby for both cars and bikes. There is also a nice outdoor patio where people can eat alfresco when the weather permits it. The restaurant is wheelchair accessible and has plenty of TVs and free Wi-Fi. Usually, you don’t need a reservation to dine here, but it is recommended to make one over the weekends, as it can get pretty crowded. The place is welcoming to children and large groups.
The menu is classic pub fare, but with consideration for people that don’t eat meat, there are vegetarian and vegan options. Working hours are every day from 11 Am to 2 AM, no exceptions. This place has been reviewed online on Yelp, Trip Advisor, Google Reviews and Facebook, and based on these I’ve made a list of pros and cons.
- Great pub food menu
- Great drink options
- Modern décor
- Nice patio
- Sports playing constantly
- Some notes on poor customer service and staff
Fred’s Bar & Grill was established back in 1990, and in the almost 30 years it has been in operation, it has become a favorite watering hole for many locals. The place has undergone a major renovation a few years back, and now it has a modern interior. There are exposed brick walls, black and gleaming metal exposed ductwork ceilings and hardwood floors.
People can sit all around the large bar made of marble slabs and watch a game on TV. There are also plenty of other TVs – 26 in total dispersed strategically all around the place, so no one will miss a second of the game, as well as to 88” screens for organized watching.
The food is served either on black and white checkered wax paper or on beautiful white porcelain plates. The menu is very nicely organized. There are appetizers like bruschetta, Pei mussels, grilled calamari, quesadillas, poutine, loaded nachos and more. There are soups and salads like Fred’s classic bean soup, chicken noodle soup, and stracciatella soup, garden salad, Caesar salad, and more.
The real pub fare is their wings, chicken fingers and chicken bites that come with twelve different sauces. There are burgers like classic, gorgonzola bacon, peppercorn, and California burger. There are also a variety of pizzas and pasta dishes, as well as sandwiches and wraps. The menu is completed with fish and chips, or steak and frites, as inevitable parts of the pub fare.
Fred’s Bar & Grill offers a great selection of drinks, ranging from the draft and bottled domestic and imported beers, to an assortment of spirits and cocktails. This place has been on many lists of Mississauga’s favorite places for watching a game.
