About Amo Gelato Cafe:
A place where you can get in-house made gelato in many flavours, the Amo Gelato Cafe is located on 171 Locke Street South, in Hamilton, Ontario. People get to enjoy ice cream from their ever-changing menu in a relaxed atmosphere.
There is limited street-side parking on Locke Street, and seeing as this café is in the basement of a house, it is not exactly wheelchair accessible. There is, however, free Wi-Fi. You can even get takeaway ice cream, but due to the nature of the product, they only do deliveries via Uber eats. Amo Gelato Café is a great place to go with friends who have a sweet tooth, and to treat your kids to some ice cream from their extensive menu.
The place works seven days a week, from 1 PM to 10 PM from Monday to Friday, and from noon to 10 PM over the weekends. This ice cream shop has been reviewed online on Yelp, Trip Advisor, Google Reviews and Facebook, and based on these; I bring you the list of pros and cons.

Amo Gelato Café opened in 2016. The inside is clean and airy, with plenty of white surfaces, as to increase the natural light coming from the front windows. There are exposed brick walls painted white and white subway tile on one wall. The tables and chairs are also white, and the front door is a glass panel with a red frame. The red theme continues with the red espresso machine and some subtle red accents, like red pots with cacti. The outside patio is small but can fit several folding tables and chairs painted red.
The ice cream fridge is glass and metal, while the counter is white marble, as is the built-in high table running the length of the shop. The ice cream is served in white cups with the logo in red, or in waffle cones.
When I did my research on this place, I was amazed by the many flavours of ice cream they make. There are always the “standard” flavours like vanilla, chocolate, hazelnut, and caramel, but there are still some unexpected and surprisingly good flavours like almond+honey, lime sorbetto, orange creamsicle, sangria or mojito.
Besides the many ice cream flavours, this place offers coffees and some baked goods like croissants and crepes and ice cream-filled croissants and crepes. The place is a great one to have a dessert in passing or go, especially for some time off with coffee and ice cream. There is a good selection of vegan ice creams and the people working there always come up with great suggestions. In the words of many satisfied patrons, Amo Gelato Café has an ice cream offer for every palate.
